Bonnie Carlson obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Education from The College of William & Mary and a Master of Science in Music Education from Old Dominion University. Her 40-year career in teaching music with Newport News Public Schools included conducting and adjudicating events such as Newport News All-City Chorus, Virginia District VIII Choral Festival, and All-Virginia Elementary Chorus; she retired in 2015. In addition, she has presented at in-service conferences for the Virginia Music Educators Association, the Virginia Educational Media Association, and the Virginia Athletic and Physical Education Association. She has served as Chair of her school’s Relay for Life team and remains active in community theatre. She and her husband, David, are members of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was Interim Music Director and is currently a Stephen Minister.

Robin Cooke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Old Dominion University. Her college career included playing field hockey on four NCAA championship teams; among several honors, she was named “ODU Female Athlete of the Year” and inducted into the “ODU Hall of Fame.” She subsequently served as a volunteer coach at ODU for 12 years. Her professional career is well established in the banking industry; as one of the founding employees of TowneBank, she is currently an Executive Vice President and the Director of Retail Banking. She has been recognized by Inside Business as one of its “Top 40 Under 40” as well as by Girls’ Inc. as “Strong, Smart, and Bold.” She and her husband, Michael, have two children who attend Trinity Lutheran School; Brady is in the 1st grade while Drew is in Kindergarten.

Patricia Fielding received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with Writing Emphasis from Christopher Newport University. She has over 30 years of extensive experience in supporting organizations with editing, technical writing, and training development skills; she is currently an Instructional Systems Designer with Allen Corporation of America. Upon joining Trinity Lutheran Church in 1996, she has served as Nursery Supervisor, Music Leader for Vacation Bible School, and Choir Member. Community involvement includes Virginia Choral Society, the Governor’s School for the Arts, Boy Scouts of America, and Peninsula Bicycling Association. She is married, and all three sons attended Trinity Lutheran School.

Connie Hoover possesses a bachelor’s degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in Communication from Norfolk State University. Her career has spanned almost 50 years in teaching and training individuals in the public school setting, the college setting, and the organizational setting; i.e., Hampton City Schools, Thomas Nelson Community College, and Symantec. In addition, her sole proprietorship of an international training enterprise has featured clients in the public and private sectors as well as the United Nations. She has served on the Church Council of Trinity Lutheran Church twice and also chaired its Personnel Committee and Property Committee. She is welcomed back to the Board of Trustees for Trinity Lutheran School; she served twice previously, when both of her daughters attended from Preschool through 8th grade.

Charles “Chuck” Neff earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from Centenary University with a major in Political Science. He served active duty in the Navy for five years before beginning law school at the University of Virginia. While at UVA, he served on two editorial law boards. Upon receiving his Juris Doctor, Chuck worked for two law firms in the Northern Virginia area. Over his accomplished law career, he has earned several state and national awards. He currently serves as the Director and Assistant General Counsel for Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. Both of Chuck’s children are TLS students.

Lisa Surles-Law received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and her Master of Arts degree in Counseling/Community Agency from Hampton University. She is the Program Manager at Jefferson Lab for “Science Activities for Teachers of the 8th Grade” and “Summer Undergraduate Laboratory Internship and Research Experience for Undergraduates” as well as Coordinator of its “Region II Science Teacher Night.” She has been recognized for “Teacher Programs that Work” by the Virginia Math and Science Coalition and also “Community Partnership Award” by the Virginia Association of Science Teachers. Her experience includes judging Science Fair events throughout Tidewater. She and her husband, Ken, have a daughter, Carol Ann, who graduated from Trinity Lutheran School in 2016.
