Welcome
We are so happy that you have an interest in Trinity Lutheran School. We feel that our school offers the best program for young people in Preschool to Grade 8. Our directions toward International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) and our brain-based approaches to learning demonstrate that our school is at the forefront in providing rigorous, value-driven approaches to educate the Learners of the 21st Century. This is the first of many distinction one will find at Trinity Lutheran School that sets us apart from other schools in the Hampton Roads area.
As you examine the classrooms here at Trinity, you will find dynamic, interactive approaches that challenge students' thinking, sharpen their reasoning skills, and accelerate their knowledge base. Programs, initiatives and activities are all designed to support the vision of "Building Foundations for Life". Whether it is our kindergarten engaged in reading to therapy dogs as part of "Paws to Reading Program", or it is our sixth grade classes researching levels of decompostion in the compost pile that is part of our "Outdoor Classroom Project" or it is our eighth grade classes traveling across the regions of Virginia, exploring the terrain, taking water samples using GIS to explore data on the computers as part of the Earth Science/Geography courses, you can be sure that the learning is fun, interesting, challenging and pertinent to the times.
Trinity's 50 years of educating children demonstrates a school committed to young people and preparing them for what awaits them in the future. We are a haven for academic excellence surrounded by a values-driven environment. As former TLS students return to us on visits, we are not surprised to learn that their high school successes can be credited to the foundation provided at Trinity Lutheran School. In fact, recent high school graduates that were former Trinity students receive many more acceptances to prestigious universities. Case in point, over 41% of the 2009-2010 students that attended Trinity Lutheran School were accepted to the University of Virginia. This far surpasses most public or private schools. Visionary thinking, a variety of sound approaches and the best educational practices can be credited to the caliber of excellence found for every student at Trinity Lutheran School.
As you can tell we are quite proud of our school. Please come, visit, and see first hand our wonderful school's accomplishments and dreams for the future. We are committed to our noble work of "Building Foundations for Life" at Trinity.
